Project Description
To design an energy-efficient building with security measures able to protect the building and its inhabitants — military support teams for civil authorities (MSC) — against terrorism threats.
Solution
The design featured maximum feasible standoff distance from parking areas and laminated glazing in the windows. Cost effective energy- conserving features, including an energy management control system and high efficiency motors, incorporated lighting and HVAC systems. Once the building was completed, Ames Associates was contracted to complete a similar project for the Georgia Army National Guard’s civil support team.
