Project Description
As a cost-saving measure for this non-profit group, Ames Associates produced the construction documents so that each building discipline could be bid and awarded separately. Ames Associates refers to this process as “Packaged Bidding”. This process allows the client to act as their own General Contractor thereby saving approximately 10% of the project cost. Ames Associates provided Construction Management assistance to the client to make this savings possible.
Ames Associates worked closely with management at the Good Samaritan Agency to design a building to meet their program needs. The Daycare Center was separated from the Learning Center by the Administrative Offices and Reception Area. The layout provided the necessary buffer between the quiet classroom atmosphere and the daycare.
